My story is a weird one, full of crazy happenings, so here, I will share the “normal” side of me. The one that shows, despite the craziness, I am still just a girl.
My name is Christy. I was born and raised in Texas, never too far from Dallas.
My parents divorced and both remarried, so my family is very BIG. I have 10 siblings, only 1 by blood, a brother. I also have a very big family when it comes to cousins, aunts and uncles. My family is a wide variety of people. We all vary in our interests and opinions, but all of us agree on one thing: Family First.
I often describe my immediate family as being a mafia. Once you’re in, you’re in. Divorce, fights, etc. mean nothing, except perhaps the addition of new members. Once you’re in, we will be ruthlessly loyal for you. You will always have a family to lean on, rely on and that will go to war with you. And we always settle issues in house.
I have two beautiful children. A girl and a boy. I am currently married to my son’s father, divorced from my daughter’s father. The story of how my current husband and I met is an odd one. After my parent’s divorce, my mother was married to a man for several years. After several years, they divorced and were both remarried. He and his new family, came to our holiday parties. (see the mafia rules above lol) His new wife had 2 older sons, who would sometimes come to the parties as well. After my 1st husband and I had divorced, during a Christmas party, her son and I hit it off. And we have been together ever since. So my ex Step Dad is now my Father in law. So, needless to say, my husband has known my daughter since she was born. However, we officially became a family when she was about 3. My ex husband is still active in our daughter’s life, and he and my current husband are not just cordial, but friendly.
My husband and I struggled to add another child to our family. 7 years later and we have finally completed our family dream with a son.
In addition, we also have a dog. She’s a half Pitt bull, half chihuahua/terrier. 😂 Because, We had to have a weird dog, for our weird family!
The Real MC.
About me. Let’s see. Number one is my family. They’re the most important thing on this Earth. Ever since I was a child, my only desire was to be a wife and a mother. But, since that was only going to happen once I was older, many things became passions in my life. I love music. Music is a major component in my life. I use it to cope, to relax, to re-energize, to express myself. My family is a very musical family, so it was engrained in my being from an early age. I’ve never been able to play an instrument, much to my disappointment. But I am a good singer. Wanna Hear? And I love all styles and genres. I am what you’d call an “artsy” person. lol I love to craft, paint, scrapbook, and create. My Mother and I have done several weddings and parties, where we made decorations, bouquets, food, and even weddings cakes. I’ve been in several plays in my life, and countless concerts, both in choirs and solo. And most obviously, I love writing. I’ve always been a “writer”, never published, but often read. lol My senior year of high school I made $25 a pop, writing senior papers on books I hadn’t even read. But, I do love reading as well. I tend to lean towards science fiction, horror and mystery when it comes to reading. But I’ve always been a fan of classic and contemporary poetry, both “professional” and “amateur”. I’ve always considered myself a mix of an old lady and a little girl. I’m old fashioned in a lot of my opinions, beliefs and patterns. But my loves and my heart is like a child’s. I will start by admitting, I am a glitter addict. I’ve loved glitter since I was about 12/13. I’ve always worn glitter and used glitter in anything I do. Enough that I had a meme for it. “My friends don’t always tag me in posts, but when they do, it’s about glitter.”. And that’s true. Most things I am tagged in are about glitter. lol But, I’m also a Disney Lover. I’ve seen every Princess movie and I would say 90% of all of the others. When I saw the live version of Beauty and the Beast, I cried from beginning to end. A stream of endless tears. 😂 I have several stuffed animals, all of which have names. And I also love to color! I absolutely love dancing. I took several classes when I was a teenager. Ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical. I loved it. I still love it. But I also love twerking.😂 and that slow motion dancing. Belly dancing is amazing too! I’m not great at it all, but I love it all.
In general, I’m an upbeat, go with the flow kind of person. I have a solid, if not inappropriate and blunt, sense of humor. 😂 Someone once reffered to it as, Comedic Candor. Not much gets me down. But I will admit, if I do get down, it can be a pretty big pit of gloom. But I always find ways to crawl out of it, and move forward, Thanks to my beliefs and my CREATOR.
My life has had many a doctor. lol As well as several official and unofficial diagnoses.
I am diabetic. I take one oral medication and I inject insulin for meals. When I was 14, I was diagnosed as hypoglycemic via a 12 hour glucose tolerance test. When I was pregnant with my daughter I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes. After that, it was assumed I was no longer diabetic. However, I had become diabetic and remained uncontrolled for several years. At one point, a doctor had put me on a diet and pills. But after losing weight and having a wonderful A1C, she decided to declare me not diabetic anymore. My final, and permanent diagnosis came 8n 2015, when I became pregnant and was hospitalized for a blood sugar reading of over 300. I miscarried, but because I began taking insulin and being controlled, I quickly became pregnant again and had my son. In all honesty, when I first began injecting insulin, I had many moments of being down. After time, I found that I don’t have many of those moments anymore.
But the reason we are here.
I was diagnosed as Bipolar with Mania, Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, and severe Anxiety. I’ve taken many a pill and been through 3 types of therapy. I will admit, the therapy was beneficial. But it wasn’t until I was 30, that I was finally and accurately diagnosed as having Temporal Lobe Epilepsy, and all of the other diagnoses were erased. And that’s why we are here. 😊
